Pets – Most apartments will allow one small pet (under 25 pounds). Some apartments will allow up to two pets and / or larger pets. However certain breeds of dogs are almost always never allowed in apartments. These breeds include, Doberman Pinschers, Mastiffs, Pit Bulls, Rottweilers and other breeds of dogs that can be considered aggressive. Some apartments will also require that the dogs and cats are spayed or neutered. Some apartments might also require that cats be declawed. Proof that pets are current on all shots may also be required.
A pet deposit (anywhere from $150 to $250) and a non-refundable pet fee (anywhere from $150 to $150) are usually charged. A monthly “pet rent” will mostly be charged ($15 to $25 per month). Some apartments will charge these deposits and fees per pet.
Birds and Fishes are normally allowed with no deposits or fees. Exotic Animals such as lizards, ferrets etc. should be discussed with the apartments directly to check if acceptable.
